Is it worth doing the right thing when no one is watching?

⚖️ ¿Vale la pena hacer lo correcto cuando nadie está mirando?
En Venecia 🇮🇹 una trabajadora encontró un bolso con 7.000 dólares olvidado en un vaporetto.
Podía haber guardado el dinero y nadie lo habría sabido.
Pero eligió hacer lo correcto: entregó el bolso a la oficina de objetos perdidos.
Un año después, como establece el artículo 929 del Código Civil italiano, al no aparecer la propietaria, solicitó ejercer el derecho que la ley concede a quien encuentra un bien perdido.
Sin embargo, el Ayuntamiento quiso quedarse con el dinero.
Tras una batalla judicial de casi dos años, un juez le dio la razón.
La lección va mucho más allá de los 7.000 dólares.
💡 Una sociedad sana necesita dos pilares:
✔️ Personas que elijan actuar con honestidad.
✔️ Instituciones que respeten y hagan cumplir la ley, incluso cuando hacerlo no les beneficia.
Cuando el Estado pretende ignorar sus propias normas, no solo perjudica a una persona: erosiona la confianza de toda la sociedad.
La ley y el bien no siempre caminan juntos por casualidad.
Deben hacerlo por convicción.
Porque una nación fuerte no se construye únicamente castigando a quien hace el mal.
Se construye, sobre todo, protegiendo a quien hace el bien.
